how i do
As a photographer, my style of photography leans towards a photo-journalistic style and not as much towards tradition wedding photography. Of course there is a time and place for a posed photo, and at times I will use that style for a shot. But I believe it was Andy Rooney that best said what my passion for photography is, "I don't like food that's too carefully arranged; it makes me think that the chef is spending too much time arranging and not enough time cooking."
I want to "cook" and like any chef that cares about his dish and wants it to look its best, his passion comes from cooking.
I was recently asked by a potential client, "What is your favorite part about being a wedding photographer?" and I think my answer surprised them. It wasn't setting up the perfect details shot or it wasn't finding some romantic, incredible couple spot... It's the people.
I love hearing the couples vows to each other. I love listening in to the toasts and hearing the funny and the heartfelt stories from the ones closest to the couple. I love the glassy eyes that look into each other during the first dance and the father daughter dance. I love the interactions with friends and family. I love the outrageous reception moments. I love witnessing the greatest moment in two peoples lives. And all the while I get to laugh, feel good and capture the moment.
So what can you come to expect from me on your wedding day? I just want to capture your moments just as they unfold. I can't tell you exactly where I will be during your first kiss or during your first dance, but I can tell you I will capture those and the many special moments of your wedding.
